The Director, Investor Relations Engagement is a new role within the IR team at American Express, with primary responsibility to establish a proactive investor outreach program for the company. As a new function within the team, the Director will play a leadership role in understanding the landscape, defining the strategy, executing, and tracking success. Responsibilities for the outreach program include developing engagement prioritization; establishing relationships with key external stakeholders; creating relevant investor materials; and managing logistics and schedule planning. In addition, this role will also support existing IR deliverables, including the earnings process, investor and analyst meetings, and investor communications. This role will have one direct report to help support the creation of the new program.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong critical and strategic thinking, with the ability to think about a “white space” problem, develop a point of view, and a structured program for execution
• Experienced and expert communicator capable of building relationships with external and internal stakeholders
• Organized and structured – ability to develop processes to manage complex scheduling and logistics for investor meetings and events, in collaboration with the IR Executive Assistant
•  Be proactive in anticipating needs of customers and responsive to requests in a timely, efficient manner while performing in a busy and difficult environment, often under time pressure.
•  Strong analytic skills and abilities; must be able to manage and assimilate large quantity of information.
• Exhibit professionalism required for interaction with financial community, senior management, and internal partners, as well as demonstrate the utmost personal and professional integrity.
• Strong skills in Microsoft office suite, particularly PowerPoint

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
