Accounting Specialist I

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Opening mail and correctly indexing a borrower’s payment.
• Responsible for the timely and accurate application of borrower payments to their respective accounts in CLS software. Payments are received by check, ACH, cash, direct payment and wire.
• Analyze and identify payment exceptions that could not be easily applied. This requires extensive research and working closely with other members of the team and members of management.
• Entering transactions within the bank to transfer funds and process deposits.
• Assist with emails, corrections or other information being requested either from internal staff or clients.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
• This position will be working out of our GA office.

Experience and Skills:

• High School Diploma.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, but not required.
• One to two years of cash applications or accounting experience.
• Experience with CLS software a plus but not required
• Knowledge of MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills.
