Purpose Aldridge Pite, LLP is looking for an Associate Attorney to practice out of the firm’s Texas office. The Associate Attorney will manage cases with an emphasis on residential real estate litigation, mortgage and transactional matters and protect the client's interest in litigation proceedings and general collection cases. Specific Duties, Activities and ResponsibilitiesMust attend mediations, trials, and hearings, and other duties as assignedMust be willing and able to travel on an as needed basisMust be able to work well with all members of the groupMust be willing and able to write articles and make presentations to clients, trade associationsMust be willing and able to participate in marketing initiatives / business developmentAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projects and casesAssist with other duties and special projects as neededJob Requirements Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school Minimum of five years of litigation/courtroom experience (foreclosure experience a plus)Member of the Texas state Bar while maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirementsSubject matter expert in their fieldManage Employees and P&L responsibilityMust be proficient in performing legal research and writingMust be proficient in taking & defending depositionsMust be proficient in drafting pleadings, briefs, affidavits, discovery, proposed orders, as well as correspondence, memoranda, and opinion lettersProficiency with Fastcase or WestlawMust be well-versed in the rules of evidence, introducing evidence, and civil procedure in both state and federal courtGeneral Competency FactorsDemonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
