Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for its Los Angeles office. Working with the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, the successful candidate will be highly motivated and possess a minimum of 5 years litigation experience, preferably in a regional or national law firm setting. The Litigation Paralegal will assist and support all aspects of a heavy litigation practice.
Qualified candidates should possess a working knowledge of the California/Federal Rules of Civil Procedures and California Statutes, be able to effectively handle the multiple and varied responsibilities of case management and trial preparation; including drafting and analyzing legal documents, performing legal research, and working with discovery documents in a fast-paced team environment. Prior trial and multi-state experience is a plus. The ability to develop rapport with clients, maintain strong working relationships, exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and produce an accurate and high-quality work product are essential requirements for this position. Strong organizational and communication skills, a working knowledge of computer applications and litigation support systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Relativity is required.

Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours)
Schedule: Monday through Friday (Extended hours are sometimes necessary to meet client and firm deadlines.)
Salary range: $105,000 - $130,000 (Actual salary is based on experience and job qualifications.)
Bonus: Discretionary holiday bonus
