Position Overview: The Accounts Receivable Specialist will work closely with the accounting team, reporting directly to the Manger/Director of Accounting Operations. The individual will be responsible for performing collections, resolving client A/R issues, reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and generating invoices.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

• Maintain up-to-date billing system. 
• Posts payment to owners account as required.
• Follow up, collection and allocation of payments. 
• Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
• Reconciliation of accounts
• Monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities 
• Maintain accounts receivable customer files 
• Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash etc. 
• Prepare bank deposits 
• Investigate and resolve customer queries 
• Process adjustments 
• Organizing a recovery system and initiate collection efforts 
• Communicating with customers via phone, email, mail or personally
• Responsibilities may be specialized in one or several of the listed responsibilities. 
• Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any related field is preferred
• Minimum of 1-3 years Accounts Receivable experience if required
• Experience using accounting software such as but not limited to Great Plains, Tops, Oracle, PeopleSoft. Yardi property management software experience is a plus. 
• Knowledge of office administration and procedures 
• Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures 
• Heavy data entry experience is a plus
• Proficient with MS Office Suite programs; specifically, Outlook, Excel, Word
