Title –HR Operations Manager

Hours: 8 - 5 - Onsite

Location: Chicago, IL

Salary: $90,000-$110,000

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in HR
  • Strong experience in managing multi-state payroll processes, including knowledge of tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits, across multiple states.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office applications; experience with HR software systems preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Stay abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations and ensure compliance with applicable requirements. Proactively identify and mitigate HR-related risks to minimize legal exposure.
  • Execute end-to-end payroll processes including data entry, computations, and verifying accuracy of payroll transactions.
  • Review and process changes in employee tax withholding, direct deposit, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to resolve payroll discrepancies or issues.
  • Prepare reports for management on payroll expenses, tax liabilities, and other related metrics.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Strong experience in managing multi-state payroll processes, including knowledge of tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage relationships with benefit providers.
  • Implement and maintain performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Manage the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and ensure accurate and up-to-date employee data. Generate reports and analytics to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries regarding pay issues.
  • Understand and implement proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
  • Assist the production and validation of journal entries.
  • Create and run reports to assist with reconciliation of benefits charges and funding of Health Savings Accounts.
  • Support the annual enrollment process, including vendor changes, plan design changes, communications, and testing of online enrollment system.
  • Support the administration of retirement programs.
