Accounts Payable Supervisor

Description
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating an efficient accounts payable cycle through interactions with internal purchasing, budget and program staff and with external vendors.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable staff.
- Manage all accounts payable/receivable input into the Financial Edge accounting system and issue checks in a timely manner.
- Provide program managers with detailed accounts payable reports as requested.
- Manage travel and cash advances and perform related account reconciliations monthly.
- Reconcile accounts payable report to the general ledger account monthly.
- Input and maintain internal controls over cash receipts and related posting to the general ledger.
- Responsible for the issuance of 1099’s each year.
- Maintain documentation of all procedures in area of responsibility.
- Assist the Accounting Manager on special projects such as those relating to internal control improvements, automation of procedures, audits, etc..
- Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, and a minimum of three to five years experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or Bookkeeping, along with supervisory experience is required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow-through on all areas of responsibility.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively with persons from diverse ethnic and professional backgrounds required.
