Position Overview
Consistent with thestrategic priorities of Acero Schools (“ACERO”), the Senior Financial Analystwill lead and be responsible for developing, improving and maintaining theannual budget along with subsidiary and long term budgets.
The SeniorFinancial Analyst will create systems for developing the annual budget acrossall sources and uses of funds for ACERO at both the school and theorganizational level. The SeniorFinancial Analyst will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and willwork with the ACERO leadership team, School Principals and network personnel onincorporating the strategic financial planning and analysis into an effectivebusiness model that most effectively and efficiently delivers resources toACERO students. ACERO is committed tomaintaining its network of schools and as such the Senior Financial Analystwill model the long term sustainability of ACERO and collaborate on matters ofstrategic and operational planning.
Core Responsibilities
?Manage the annual budgetprocess, including assisting with the development of budget targets andestimates to ensure the network’s budget is reasonable and strategically alignswith our mission and goals.
?Conduct financial analyses,including budget to actual performance, preparation of pro-formas and financialforecasts, to achieve operating efficiencies.
?Assist the CFO with preparingbudget presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.
?Provide training and support tonetwork staff to help with managing school and department budgets and relatedactivity.
?Assist the CFO and Controller inpreparing both internal and external reports involving budget results,comparisons or projections, including but not limited to CPS reporting,financing agreements and Board of Directors reports.
?Develop financial models and lead the management and use of ourbudget management system.
Qualifications
?Education: Bachelor’s Degree,MBA (preferred)
?At least three years ofsignificant work experience with organizations as a Financial or BudgetAnalyst, Grant Manager or equivalent
?Proficiency using MS Excel (e.g.vlookup, hlookup, etc.) and with financial modeling and analysis
?Familiarity with budgetmanagement systems such as Advanced Budget Management or Adaptive Insights is aplus
?Flexibility, with a strong workethic and an entrepreneurial spirit, to accommodate high level ofresponsibility and multiple priorities
?Ability to work effectively in afluid environment and with a wide range of constituents, including boardmembers, school personnel and external reports
?Must be authorized to work in the United States (required)
The nature of thework requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment, and theability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and preparework documents, set-up and maintain work files. Physical demands include the abilityto stand, bend, reach high and low, stoop, and walk around the classroom 60% ofthe day. In addition, candidates must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15to 20lbs. for short periods of time, and walk up and down stairs several timesa day.
Majority of work isperformed in a general office environment. Position requires availability forextended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties. Alsorequires participation and attendance at organization-sponsored events andmeetings.
