Summary of Role

This Human Resources/People and Culture managerial role serves as a liaison between hotel operators and the Luxury and Lifestyle corporate HR team. This manager will be responsible for the delivery and implementation of corporate initiatives, supporting on property employee engagement, and ensures IHG policies and procedures are integrated and practiced within the workforce. Provide guidance and support to all levels of colleagues, particularly to ensure stability and consistency. May assist in the improvement/ development of HR programs, policies, and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop key relationships with HR and Executive property teams to ensure collaboration with employee relation matters.
  • Serves as the point of escalation for complex people issues.
  • Onboarding of General Managers and new HR/P&C leaders; creation of offer letters/contracts, training plans and ensure one on one meetings are scheduled.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues including EEOC charges, sexual harassment charges, etc. In partnership with the property and legal counsel, determine employee disciplinary actions up to and including termination decisions. Provide advice and/or seek advice from internal/external sources, as appropriate, on local employment issues/laws to ensure compliance and favorable employee relations activities.
  • Collaborate with other HR managers to prepare bi-monthly presentation to field HR/P&C leaders.
  • Support with implementation of new programs and other company initiatives.
  • Assist will all Openings and Transitions processes for human resources items in your respective region.
  • Assists as needed with facilitated trainings and meetings.
  • Ensure hotels are consistent and compliant with IHG policies and legal requirements.
  • Support the facilitation of Oracle and all new systems rollouts to property and home office.
  • Supports the corporate Office in refreshing and evolving HR/P C programs and tools as needed to keep our culture evolving and aligned.
  • Supports Regional Vice Presidents in daily tasks, project implementation and organizational support.

Specific Experience We’re Seeking:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent of 3 years of human resource management experience; Master’s Degree and/or SPHR/PHR certification a plus
  • Experience in a human resources in hospitality highly preferred.
  • Strong employee relations, problem solving, data analytics, program development, written and oral communication, presentation, facilitation skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft

Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • HRIS and Applicant Tracking/Recruitment Management system experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple concurrent and

complex projects and to work effectively and efficiently to meet required

deadlines.

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills including data

gathering and analysis.

  • Willing to travel up to 25% or as required

Key Skills & Experiences:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, report, or schedule form. Regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.

Experience: Eight or more year’s progressive work related experience in human resource management with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position

Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to produce detailed work, use reasoning skills, verbal and written communication, have customer contact, and handle multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions. The employee is frequently required to give presentations and occasionally required to use math skills.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be moderately exposed to noise and may be occasionally required to use tools/equipment.
