Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Human Resources to lead our HR initiatives and drive enhancements throughout our organization. This pivotal role will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of our human resources function, ensuring the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with our organization's goals and values. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in HR management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of human resources best practices. The Director of Human Resources will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our workforce is equipped, motivated, and aligned with our growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
  • Develop, own and execute HR strategies that support the overall business objectives and foster a positive organizational culture.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to create and align HR initiatives with the company's vision and mission.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and improvements to optimize job functions, productivity, training, employe acquisition and retention. 
Talent Acquisition and Management:
  • Oversee the full recruitment life cycle, from job posting and recruitment to onboarding, ensuring the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Implement and streamline effective employee onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Manage performance appraisal processes, career development, progression and succession planning. 
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the resources and skills necessary to succeed.
Employee Relations:
  • Act as a trusted top-level advisor to employees and management, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Oversee employee relations issues, conducting investigations when necessary, and resolving conflicts in a fair and consistent manner. 
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the resources and skills necessary to succeed.
Training and Development:
  • Partner with Operations leadership to identify training needs and coordinate the development and delivery of robust training programs and tracking to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
  • Support career development initiatives, including mentorship programs and development plans and opportunities. 
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Oversee the design and administration of competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programs.
  • Oversee all Payroll & Benefit systems, functions, and administration.
  •  Ensure compliance with relevant federal and state labor laws, regulations and standards.
  • Provide HR policy guidance, interpretation, and updates. 
  • Offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, sick leave, and eligibility for variable compensation.
Vendor and Service Provider Management:
  • Lead the negotiation and selection of vendors and service providers for HR-related functions, such as payroll and benefits administration, recruitment tools, compliance and training programs.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with external vendors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that meet the organization's needs.
Employee Engagement and Collaborative Culture: 
  • Work collaboratively with the company's management team to develop an overall employee engagement strategy. 
  • Create and implement programs or initiatives promoting a collaborative culture, fostering teamwork, and enhancing overall employee engagement and morale. 
  • Develop and strengthen strategies to improve employee retention. 
Team Leadership:
  • Manage and develop a high-performing HR team, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to direct reports.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • 7 years of experience in a HR leadership role, with in-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and technical expertise in HR platforms, such as Paycor, ADP, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Proven track record of leading successful HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives, delivering measurable results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft environments, including but not limited to Microsoft 365 Suite, Teams, SharePoint.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and industry best practices is highly desirable.
  • High level of organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
  • Must be Customer & Employee centric and committed to developing and fostering a great culture of Customer Service, Experience, Execution, and celebrating Employee contributions and accomplishments.

Most of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the warehouse/storage area. The warehouse environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold (non-weather related), working near moving forklift equipment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the warehouse area.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
