The position summary states the general nature and purpose of the job. Overall accountabilities are defined in this section.
Provide strategic direction and operational support to meet the established goals for the Site which carries a broad scope of responsibilities and complexity. Operate the cold storage facility while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. Has demonstrated capabilities in the areas of operations management, blast performance, export/import handling, financial acumen, procurement & project management, developing strategic direction, developing talent and lean continuous improvement.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.   • Directs and oversees the efficient operation of the Facility to meet cost, service, and quality objectives with core functions of import/export/blast.
  • Manages analytics supporting Site operations to optimize performance to goals.
  • Develops strategic initiatives and provides management with recommendations on future business growth planning.
  • Leads procurement activities within the facility to minimize cost exposure.
  • Partners with facility maintenance team to maintain existing infrastructure and equipment.
  • Manages the inventory control processes to minimize aged or miss-rotated inventory.
  • Manages available storage space to maximize revenue generation.
  • Develops policies and procedures across the Site that reduces costs and meets customer expectations.
  • Collaborates with customers to build relationships driving high levels of customer satisfaction driven by meeting customer quality and productivity standards.
  • Works closely with other Business Partners internally and externally to help meet customer 's expectations.
  • Manages all change processes to ensure that little or no impact is felt along the supply chain.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides leadership and guidance to employees within the Distribution Center, both direct and indirect reports.
  • Carries out the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; development of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year College or University and 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required.
  • 5 years of experience leading continuous improvement projects in warehousing, maintenance, distribution, and 3PL Operations.
  • Lean training is preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the organization at the most senior levels.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, strategic thinking, project leadership, and talent development.
  • The ability to work through complex, unstructured problems.
  • Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal formats.
  • High level of organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability.
  • Proven success leading complex commercial negotiations.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse and facility management including import/export/blast
  • Background in WMS software and computer systems. Experience with Accellos High Jump desired.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • Experience developing people at all levels and guiding career progression.

  • Most of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the warehouse/storage area. The warehouse environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold (non-weather related), working near moving forklift equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the warehouse area.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
