The Women’s Triathlon Head Coach will develop a competitive NCAA II Triathlon program while maintaining an emphasis on the academic success of student-athletes. The program is expected to recruit, retain, and maintain 21 or more unique student-athletes who can be academically successful; instruct and prepare the student-athletes for competition; schedule and coach intercollegiate triathlon events; counsel the student-athletes on academic, athletic and social issues; provide a connection point for outreach and community engagement to the campus, alumni and throughout Indiana.

MINIMUM REQUIRED: 

• Three years of experience in coaching triathlon at the collegiate, national or professional level(s).
• Level 1/2/3 draft-legal coaching accreditation from a recognized International Triathlon Union (ITU) or National Governing Union (NGU).
• Strong knowledge of NCAA and USA Triathlon rules and regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, customer service, and supervisory skills.

PREFERRED:

• Triathlon head coaching experience. 
• Knowledge in the operations, recruiting, and administration of an NCAA Women’s Triathlon program.

Education 

Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Licenses/Certifications/Credentials

First Aid/CPR certification (must be active within 60 days of employment).

NCAA required testing.

• Coaching/Teaching: Instruct, teach and coach student-athletes during practices and competitions.
• Recruiting: Identify, evaluate and recruit potential team members to UINDY, recording transactions in ARMS or similar university provided recruiting software, and ensure that the program meets the annual minimum squad size number of women and that recruiting activities adhere to University, GLVC and NCAA Policies and Procedures
• Academic Performance: Ensures ongoing eligibility of student athletes in the triathlon program and monitors their academic progress. Targets include a 3.20 team GPA and a 90 percent graduation rate for student-athletes who exhaust eligibility at the University of Indianapolis.
• Administrative: Develop schedules for the fall and spring competitions; conduct inventories of uniforms, supplies and equipment to ensure effective maintenance of physical resources; effectively use fiscal resources to coordinate team travel and recruiting while conducting timely budget and expense reconciliation management.
• Alumni and Community Engagement: Communicates with former student-athletes from the program throughout the year and conducts at least one on-campus alumni event and a minimum of two community engagement/service projects annually.
