**Position Overview:**
Our Residential Mental Health Treatment Center in the serene surroundings of Malibu, CA, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team. The LVN will play a crucial role in providing quality care and support to individuals receiving treatment for mental health disorders in our residential setting.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
2. Monitor and assess patients' physical and mental health status, including vital signs, symptoms, and behavior changes.
3. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
4. Provide therapeutic interventions and support to patients experiencing psychiatric crises or distress.
5. Assist with activities of daily living, including meal assistance, hygiene care, and mobility support, as needed.
6. Document patient care activities, observations, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner.
7. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning sessions to contribute to the overall care of patients.
8. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment plans, and coping strategies.
**Qualifications:**
1. Current LVN license in the state of California.
2. Minimum of 1 year of working experience as an LVN in a healthcare setting, preferably in mental health or psychiatric nursing.
3. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to respond effectively to psychiatric emergencies.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
5. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
6. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of patients and the treatment program.
