HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 214 is Hiring an Outreach Family Specialist - 0.8 FTE Near Rolling Meadows, IL
- State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in the area of School Social Work, School Psychologist, or School Counseling
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Remains current regarding the availability of outside agencies, hospitals, substance abuse programs, and social service agencies.
- Provides individual and family intervention/coaching based on student and family needs.
- Participates in case conferences, staffings, and screenings with administrators, faculty, and staff members as needed.
- Serves as a consultant to families, connecting them to services outside of the school community.
- Assists in developing and providing student intervention and professional development centered around student engagement and trauma.
- Develops parent training series based on district needs.
- Assists in problem-solving crisis situations with students and families.
- Serves on the Solution Finding Teams, helping to identify students who may need additional support.
- May facilitate and support students transitioning back into the school community post-hospitalization or after a long-term absence.
- Other duties as determined by the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services and/or the Assistant Director of Student Services.
