In this role, you will be responsible in defining the overall digital product assortment strategies, while maintaining appropriate brand ethos, and overseeing digital GTM calendar. Overall objective is to drive product strategies to drive long-term growth and profitability and financial success of Pure Fishing. Channel focus will be on DTC with lesser support of B2B channel, by driving the product GTM strategies around Merchandise Planning and Inventory Buying. The focus will be on aligning the financial growth targets of the channel and inventory management strategies to meet those targets, while fulfilling the customers' needs across the portfolio of Brands at Pure Fishing.
As the Director, you will develop the assortment strategies to get the right product to the right customers at the right price.
What you will do:
Assortment Planning/Merchandising and Financial Planning:
    • Focus on organizing and aligning the digital product GTM calendar for all Brands within the DTC channels.
    • Develop and drive merchandise assortments that that are aligned to the overall company strategy, resulting in increased revenue opportunity for the NA Ecommerce
    • Own the DTC pricing alignment through the company iMAP policy, promotional cadence through new product development
    • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify optimal assortment by brand by site to drive growth of the digital channels
    • Oversee the success of preseason sales and inventory plans by division and category that support product strategies.
    • Build out a strong process that keeps all functions focused on in-season priorities and adjusting future strategies as needed.
    • Work with the demand planning team, Site merchandisers to reconcile top down to bottom-up division/category plans.
    • Present financial forecasts and supporting action plans in weekly/monthly S&OP meetings with sales and manage inventories for all styles to meet department financial goals.
    • Work with our 3PL warehouse partner to optimize inventory allocation and SKU productivity.
    • Communicate product sales results and forecasts to team and cross functional team on a weekly basis.
    • SMU strategies - Communicate channel needs in-season and preseason to augment and test consumer demand. This includes quick turn ideas, as well as kitting/bundling of product
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross functional team (Brand/Marketing, Product, Site Merchandising, Business Intelligence, Sourcing), by building best practices around key deliverables.
    • Define clear KPI's for each milestone that define the success of the business.
    • Develop tools and reporting that delivers the needs of pre-season and in-season management of the business.
    • Ensure the successful delivery of expectations across each milestone of the business.
Cross Functional Alignment:
    • Partner with cross-functional business partners as Merchandising and Planning expert to develop strong S&OP, that is scalable as the company grows.
    • Clearly communicate GTM Process and product priorities and be able to clearly measure success
    • Lead cross-functionally as the Business expert to ensure proper communication of DTC inventory risks and opportunities. Drive collaboration on related strategies to maximize total business opportunities.
    • Build out and lead S&OP, to provide regular reports on in-season selling trends and weekly/monthly variance to plan by category/style, in addition to seasonal recaps communicated across departments.
    • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Creative, and Performance Marketing to drive demand through compelling digital ad and web content.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Merchandising/Buying, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in buying, planning, or merchandising and management experience
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build new processes and get buy in from cross functional departments
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Goal-oriented, with high standards of honesty, ethics, and personal accountability.
  • Prefer knowledge of consumer goods in a outdoor/hard goods
  • Highly organized and capable of utilizing data to drive decisions and adoption.
  • Drive results for the digital channels while balancing the priorities of the overall business
