Operations Financial Controller
Location: Spirit Lake, IA
Pure Fishing is a leading manufacturing company committed to excellence in the distribution of high-quality products/services. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. If you have a strong financial background and a passion for optimizing distribution operations, we want to hear from you.
As a Financial Controller, you will be a crucial member of our finance team, responsible for overseeing and managing the financial aspects of our distribution operations. Your role will involve financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support informed decision-making and drive operational efficiency.
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Develop and manage budgets for the distribution center, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct regular financial analysis to assess the performance of distribution operations, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.
  • Cost Control: Monitor distribution-related costs, analyze cost drivers, and implement cost-saving strategies to optimize the distribution process.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with the distribution team to manage inventory levels effectively, minimizing carrying costs while ensuring product availability.
  • Profitability Analysis: Analyze distribution contracts and agreements to evaluate profitability and negotiate favorable terms when necessary.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements for distribution operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting principles, and internal policies in all distribution-related activities.
  • Forecasting: Develop financial forecasts and models to predict future distribution trends and assist in strategic decision-making.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the distribution team, providing financial insights and recommendations to support their operations.
  • Auditing: Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits related to distribution finances.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in distribution or logistics.
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in SAP and/or INFOR WMS.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
