Our Center for Accessible Resources Department is seeking to hire a full-time Testing Assessment Specialist 1. The Testing Assessment Specialist 1 is part of a team dedicated to facilitating access and full inclusion of students with disabilities into the college environment. This is partially accomplished through proactive student support, effective collaborations, and consultations with faculty and staff through a social justice framework (Equity Lens).

* Hourly wage reflects an approximate annual salary of $33,664 - $49,369

* New employees may not be placed on the salary schedule higher than any current employee in this classification with the same or greater number of years' relevant experience.

Required Education:

Position Purpose:

Responsible for test administration support, proctoring, and providing general information and referrals to students enrolled or may be completing steps to enroll. This role is responsible for understanding and administering the rules and requirements for each test offered through the testing office. Maintenance and completion of certifications are required to perform certain tasks.

This position works with students to facilitate student success and an inclusive and accessible educational experience, consistent with federal law and universal design principles. The individual in this position exhibits professionalism and collegiality in a team environment, and the ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, accessible, and professional atmosphere. This person must exhibit cultural humility and agility, with the ability and commitment to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Essential Functions:

Testing Services

* Assure College compliance with federally mandated regulations concerning access to programs and facilities for individuals with disabilities (e.g. Americans with Disabilities Act and Rehabilitation Act of 1973, section 504).

* Actively work to ensure an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming testing environment for all students, staff, and faculty.

* Administer and proctor individual and group tests according to policy and procedures.

* Problem-solve lost or missing records, SIS errors, and uncertainty on how to reach credential goals.

* Troubleshoot basic computer/technology, student testing, or scheduling issues as they arise.

* Accesses and interprets information using technology systems.

* Gather testing materials and secure the materials in accordance with the regulations of each testing system.

* Administer and proctor group tests according to policy and procedures.

* Support students and indivduals to determine required tests, give directions for completing tests; provide timely communication to students about testing results.

* Provide assistances to student with understanding and application of testing proceedures and rules.

* Protect security and maintain confidentiality of test booklets, exams, answer sheets, scratch paper, and other testing materials in accordance with the regulations of policy and procedures.

Project/Program Support

* Connect students with resources and make referrals to campus and community partners.

* Support students' awareness of strengths and challenges; promote self-determination and disability identity awareness, where appropriate.

* Provide general information by phone, in writing, and in person, to students, staff, and members of the community regarding support and services available through the Center for Accessible Resources and Testing Support Services, testing policies and procedures, campus resources and support, and Lane policy and procedures.

* Refer and schedule students with appropriate accommodation specialist, advisor, support specialists, or other division personnel.

* Provide general office, accessible technology, and equipment check-out support as needed.

* Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.

* Other duties as assigned.

Supervision Statement:

Works under the general supervision of the Associate Dean. The Testing Coordinator or other Lead Program Coordinator may train, assign work, provide priorities, and be available to troubleshoot problems on a daily basis.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that include office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee is able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. This position may work with individuals who may be hostile or abusive. Work may require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Work Safely.

* Learn and use the Accessible Information Management (AIM) system, Student Information System (SIS), and multiple measures used for writing, reading and math placement.

* Work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.

* Maintain the confidentiality of records and information in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

* Provide support to employees working to meet accreditation standards through evaluation and assessment of student outcomes.
