About the Job
The Vice President of Analytics will lead the strategic direction and operational execution of the enterprise analytics function at SCAN Health Plan. This executive role will be accountable for delivery of advanced analytics and business intelligence to optimize decision-making, enhance member experiences, improve health outcomes, and support operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in analytics (spanning data science and data engineering) within health insurance, with demonstrated ability in leading teams to transform data into actionable insights and strategic initiatives.
You will
  • Define and implement the analytics strategy in service of the organization's overall goals and strategic priorities, ensuring analytics becomes an integral part of our corporate culture.
  • Ensure data excellence through establishing and overseeing comprehensive data governance, quality, and security policies and procedures.
  • Take full accountability of the analytics and data infrastructure, ensuring robust and scalable solutions are in place to support data collection, storage, processing, and analytical needs.
  • Assemble and lead a team of data scientists, data engineers and analysts in delivery of advanced analytics and data science techniques, (spanning descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analysis) to address complex organizational challenges.
  • Serve all business intelligence needs of enterprise by developing and refining tools and dashboards that provide actionable insights in real-time to decision-makers - both for self-service and direct support.
  • Cultivate talent by mentoring and developing a high-performing analytics team within a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders by working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to prioritize and align analytics projects with business objectives.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends by championing the adoption of innovative analytics tools and approaches, ensuring our capabilities remain cutting-edge in the healthcare sector.
  • Oversee analytics operations by streamlining processes and leveraging technology to increase efficiency and effectiveness of data analysis and reporting.
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, a comparable combination of education/experience and/or training will be considered equivalent.
  • 10-15 years Executive level experience, (Min 12 years of experience in analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing advanced analytics and business intelligence solutions in a payor organization.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, regulations, and performance metrics.
  • Deep familiarity with payor data models and architecture
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team development abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
