Description

The Clinical Director - Refugee Services at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) oversees all aspects of The Cultural Development & Wellness Center, including the leadership of the managers within the Center, implementing the strategic plan to continue the development and expansion of the Center programs, etc. Our Cultural Development & Wellness Center is a State of the Art program providing comprehensive services to refugees, immigrants, and community members from a variety of international locations.

$12,000 Sign On Bonus Available! *Not eligible for PRN candidates, internal employees, and re-hired employees within 90 days from separation.

Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week. Paid in two installments: 50% on first paycheck, 50% on paycheck following 6-month anniversary.

Plus a generous $10,000 Relocation Bonus Available! *Only out-of-state candidates may be eligible.

About you.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading numerous types of programs, a clear commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, strong leadership skills, prior leadership and working experience in programs that work with refugees and immigrants, and a demonstrated passion for values that align with our agency values.

About the role. 

Direct the provision of quality care and services delivered through the Cultural Development & Wellness Center. Oversee a multidisciplinary team in a comprehensive, collaborative manner with an emphasis on cultural sensitivity and in accordance with trauma-informed care guidelines. Responsible for integrating trauma-informed, diversity and equity principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Senior Leadership Accountabilities: Lead a team of managers or individual contributors. Ensure that managers provide focus and direction to their respective teams. Foster development of leaders and create a culture of accountability. Develop goals, strategic plans, company policies, and make decisions on the direction of the organization. Mobilize and influence external stakeholders and outside resources. Effectively communicate sr. leadership decisions and organizational strategy and plans to managers. Also, share key external updates with the team. Set performance indicators.
  • Recruit, hire, train, support, inspire, and develop leaders and individual contributors. Ensure clinical teams have the required clinical expertise in specific areas. Support recruitment and retention efforts for other clinical experts to further the work.
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to team on a regular and predictable basis and address positive recognition, promotion and/or disciplinary actions as needed. Ensure leaders provide employees on their team with appropriate supervision and clinical oversight. Arrange appropriate training and continuing education of staff to improve skills, including providing clinical supervision to therapists, and other team members as appropriate.
  • Create and operationalize a vision for the Cultural Development & Wellness Center. Lead the development and ongoing operations. Develop new services to meet unmet or underserved needs of the population served.
  • Offer training to increase the capacity of other AMHR providers and teams related to the population served, and externally as a part of the Speakers Bureau.
  • Represent AMHR Cultural Development & Wellness Center at local and state committees, and in other efforts approved by Executive Leadership. Advocate for organization's services in the community and at the state level, as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with other AMHR teams and with community partners regarding the intersectionality of services, provide a comprehensive range of services, and ensure a smooth transition of clients from one service to another.
  • Oversee and monitor quality, compliance, and productivity. Analyze data for the assigned area and use it to communicate and make informed decisions and process improvements.
  • Oversee and monitor financial viability of assigned area, and insure alignment with the organization's strategy, vision, values, and expectations. Understand and adhere to budget for the program. Ensure that revenues to pay for services are documented and billable by the business office and that the funding source is known to the billing office.
  • Engage and support grant and research efforts for the population served.
  • Handle complaints from clients and community agencies in an efficient and satisfactory manner.
  • Ensure that clinical and fiscal paperwork and online clinical records are correctly and promptly completed.
  • Interact with community agencies to improve services to clients and enhance the organization's image as a competent provider of mental health services and a committed and caring member of the community. Connect the organization with community and State partners essential for the vitality of the agency and the assigned programs.
  • Attend and contribute to leadership meetings and assist with accomplishing agency objectives and goals as set by the Board of Directors and Executive Team.
  • Actively participate in shaping the culture and successful functioning of the organization.
  • To the extent needed, understand local and state politics and resources as they relate to the assigned clinical programs and the agency as a whole.
  • Staff member will complete needed care coordination tasks for their assigned role.

Qualifications


Requirements:

  • Masters degree in a license eligible field.
  • Preferred: Doctoral degree in a license eligible field.
  • Five years experience providing behavioral health services.
  • Five years’ post licensure experience in providing services to the population served by the COE, including administrative experience in behavioral health setting.
  • Five years supervisory/management experience in increasingly responsible capacity.
  • Current Colorado Licensure in behavioral health field: PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LPC or LMFT or Licensure in behavioral health field: PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LPC or LMFT from another state and in process of obtaining Colorado licensure and will have prior to six-month anniversary with Center.
  • Required:
    • Excellent knowledge of theoretical issues related to clinical treatment.
    • Treatment philosophy consistent with the organization's goals.
    • Excellent management and communication skills.
    • Trained and experienced in screening, assessment and treatment of mental health and substance abuse concerns.
  • Preferred: Recognized as an expert in the population or diagnosis that is serviced as evidenced by having:
    • Worked on task forces, committees, board of directors, etc. related to the population served.
    • Been recognized as an established presenter on the population served, including experience giving presentations or trainings at state, national, or other large-scale conferences in the field.
    • Developed widely recognized treatment protocols or adapted evidence-based treatments for the population served.
    • Won awards from state or national organizations for serving the population that is serviced.
    • Published articles in peer-reviewed journals or books about the population serviced.

Required Vaccinations and TB Test.

AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, receive an annual influenza (flu) shot, and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for the COVID 19 vaccine, annual flu shot or TB test.

Salary for this role.

Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. Salary is also based on years of licensure and company equity.

  • Licensed Psychologist: $116,001.60 - $138,309.60
  • Licensed Therapist: $84,770.40 - $116,001.60

Bilingual Language Differential Pay. *rate depends on language requirements for the position and candidate's fluency.

Will receive scheduled earnings on a bi-weekly basis for all hours worked (excluding non-productive hours paid but not worked, e.g., paid time off, holiday, administrative, etc.) in an amount equivalent to 10% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), to a maximum amount of $6,000.00 per calendar year. *the annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full time equivalency (FTE).
