The Crisis Services division at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is a part of a statewide crisis initiative that provides resources for mental health, substance-abuse and or emotional crisis health, information, and referrals. Our crisis services include a 24/7 walk-in crisis clinic that provides mental health assessments and referrals for individuals experiencing any self-defined crisis. We also operate a 24/7 16-bed adult crisis stabilization unit (CSU) that provides mental health treatment in the form of medication services, individual and group therapy, and 24-hour support. All employees who work in crisis services are expected to work on site with clients and are provided all necessary PPE.
About the role.
We are seeking a Master's Level Unlicensed Therapist, Licensed Therapist (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) or Unlicensed/Licensed Psychologist to work in our Walk-in Crisis Center to provide evaluations and triage to clients seeking crisis mitigation and management services. The WIC Therapist is primarily responsible for providing evaluation services to walk in clients, accurately assessing for client needs, completing safety plans, lethal means restriction assessments, Columbia screening assessments, and other assessments for consumers in crisis that would determine their needs. The WIC Therapist is also responsible for determining appropriate placement to AMHR CSU and optional other referrals for outside agencies where appropriate. Overnight therapists are expected to provide oversight and support of the CSU without other leadership working during these hours, including clinical decision-making for client care, and managerial-type support for other overnight clinical staff. The WIC therapist position works closely within a multidisciplinary team including other crisis triage specialists, milieu counselors, nurses, psychiatrist, and case managers to provide intensive mental health services.
