Description

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) at is seeking a skilled, full-time Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to our Adult Intensive clinics. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing mental health care, is experienced or desires to gain more experience providing care to those in crisis. This role if for those who enjoy working with a team to arrive at solutions and deliver expert care to patients in the midst of a mental health crisis.

About the team.

The Adult Intensive Services medical team provides care for patients with severe persistent mental illness and for patients with a dual diagnosis of mental illness and developmental delay. They also provide supervision, education, mentorship, and preceptorship to early career prescribers, as well as medical trainees at every level of training.

About the Role.

Adult Intensive Services Psychiatrists at AMHR provide comprehensive psychiatric care to the adult population, including medication evaluations and follow-up appointments. Our Psychiatrists will either have experience or be seeking to build experience by providing care to involuntary patients via certification and court-ordered medications. (Although this is a small percentage of the caseload, it is a vital part of providing patient care at our agency. This involves some time writing petitions to the court, testifying and treating people who do not want to get psychiatric care.) This position also includes training psychiatric fellows, residents, nurse practitioner students, medical students, and nurses.

Shift.

The Psychiatrist will work Monday - Friday. We have a hybrid work schedule where you can enjoy working remotely half the time!

Hybrid Schedule Philosophy: If your patient wants/needs to be seen in person, you need to schedule them in person. If you feel you need to set them up in the office, set them up in the office. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to help accommodate what is best for your patient.

$15,000 Sign On Bonus Available! *Not eligible for PRN candidates, internal employees, and re-hired employees within 90 days from separation.

Paid in two installments: 50% on first paycheck, 50% on paycheck following 6-month anniversary.

Salary for this role.

Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Fewer than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. Salary is also based on years of licensure and company equity.

  • $234,748.80 - $352,123.20 per year

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct medical and psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of patients assigned, on a regular basis as within the scope of State care.
  • Assure clinicians in assigned services receive appropriate clinical supervision, as necessary.
  • Work with multidisciplinary staff to evaluate and triage according to level of acuity, as needed.
  • Share 24-hour on-call responsibilities with other psychiatrists for residential, outpatient and emergency care, as assigned.
  • Maintain availability by telephone for face-to-face evaluation of emergency patients, as appropriate.
  • Provide utilization review of all patients in continuing care to ensure appropriate medical/psychiatric services are received, as needed.
  • Attend team and other meetings, as necessary.
  • Provide consultation with other physicians and staff on patient care and difficult cases, as needed.
  • Attend continuing medical education conferences to maintain excellent standards of care, on a regular basis.
  • Understand and comply with organizational goals around quality, compliance, standards, and policies.
  • Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
  • Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
  • Accurately and completely document patient care.
  • Staff member will monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the clients care team.

Qualifications


Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine / Osteopathy. Successful completion of an accredited residency training program in psychiatry (DOs/MDs only).
  • Residency in psychiatry (DOs/MDs only.)
  • Preferred: three years of relevant clinical work experience.
  • State of Colorado Medical License or Valid Prescriptive Authority in good standing.
  • Valid and Current DEA.
  • Preferred: DEA-X

Required Vaccinations and TB Test.

AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, receive an annual influenza (flu) shot, and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for the COVID-19 vaccine, annual flu shot or TB test.
