Position Type: Substitute/Substitute Lunch Program Date Posted: 8/18/2023 Location: All schools SCOPE Under direct supervision, assist kitchen manager in preparing and serving nutritious, wellbalanced meals for students and staff and in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dishwashing area.
EXAMPLE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation of food, clean and organize the cafeteria counter
Serve students and staff at the cafeteria counter
Remove used dishes and assist in the cleaning of counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area
Assist in the organization and storage of food, supplies, and equipment
Assist in keeping all areas in the kitchen and dining area neat and clean
Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or General Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
High standards of personal hygiene and sanitation
Basic math skills with the ability to exchange currency
WORKING CONDITIONS: The Substitute School Lunch position is an hourly position that works an average of 3.5 hours per day and works on an as needed basis at a variety of school sites. The employee is required to be on call for assignments daily and travel to various schools sites. The working hours are normally anywhere from 8:30 to 11:00 in the morning to 1:00 to 2:00 in the afternoon.
RATE OF PAY: The position currently pays $15.00/hour and is not benefit eligible.
Working Environment & Equipment Used: The job's functions requires the following physical demands: occasional lifting (30 pounds maximum), carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant reaching, handling, speaking, writing, hearing, and fine finger dexterity; frequent standing, walking, and sitting, and lifting up to 30 pounds. High volume of work and strict adherence to workload may be stressful.
