Job Description: The Pathway Development Leader will support the development of each Pathway within the Academy and serve as the liaison between the school, staff and central office. The Pathway Development Leader will deepen their expertise in Pathway content to provide curricular development support and serve as curriculum leaders during the development phase of up to 4 foundational and elective courses. The Pathway Development Leader will also collaborate with the Academy Partnership Director as partnerships are developed with businesses and local community organizations. Note: Individual Pathways will have varying numbers of courses to be developed which will determine additional stipends available for curriculum work. Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison with industry experts to identify content needed for curriculum development
Assist in assessing Pathway needs, and help plan appropriate staff development.
Assist with leading and coordinating communication with Academy Teams (which shall be made up of other Pathway Development Leaders in the same Academy), administration, and faculty members.
Participate in Academy Think Tank to help shape the emerging and innovative mission of the Academies, working directly with The Director Academy Partnerships, School and Central Office Leaders.
Schedule and create a calendar of events and activities for teams to develop the Pathways
Assist in the design of Pathway scope and sequence documents, including parent and student-facing material
Attend district curriculum Boot Camp (additional curriculum hours to be paid for this work)
Attend training sessions that support the Academy model, as offered
Support Schoology integration and customization
Maintain team documentation, agendas and meeting minutes
Selected candidates can expect to engage in the above approximately 45 hours per year Curriculum development will be paid at the regular curriculum rate for courses and materials developed outside of the school day.
Minimum Qualifications:
CT Teacher Certification
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
Previous Curriculum Writing experience in the Danbury Public Schools preferred
Willing to serve for a two-year appointment
Ability to forge and sustain positive working relationships
Superior oral and written communication skills
Ability to relate successfully with Academy stakeholders and positively represent the District’s goals for the Academy
Rate:
$1500 yearly stipend ($3000 total for 2 years)
In addition to the above stipend, Pathway Development Leaders will be paid curriculum development hours as determined by pathway need (up to 4 courses or the equivalent). The curriculum rate for these hours is $31.68. Full Year courses are set at 80 hrs per course and Half Year courses are set at 40 hours per course.
