Hoover and Associates, Inc is Hiring an Employee Benefits Specialist Near Royal Oak, MI

Job Description

Job Description

The Employee Benefits Specialist is part of our employee benefits team. The main support areas of this role are processing enrollments and eligibility with insurance carriers, conducting audits after open enrollment has been completed, and preparing open enrollment materials. Much of this is completed with Employee Navigator and directly with carriers. 

Responsibilities:

  • Process additions/changes/deletions of employee elections
  • Document and verify enrollment changes & service issues. Enrollments are received via paper or electronic enrollment system and processed via multiple online carrier administration systems.
  • Assist client HR personnel with administrative processes
  • Process ID card requests and other benefit-related questions
  • Assist with new client onboarding and enrollment data audits
  • Understand COBRA eligibility requirements, SBDs and Section 125 plans

Job Requirements

  • Work closely with carrier partners on both prospective clients and existing clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - Working through and around problems 
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage responsibilities and tasks with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills. Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of HSA, FSA, and Sec.125 plans
  • Experience with an HRIS - Employee Navigator Experience strongly preferred
