Business Development Manager - Life Sciences/Biotech Marketing AgencyWe are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join our team and spearhead marketing sales within the life sciences and biotechnology industries. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing tailored marketing strategies, and building long-term relationships with potential clients in these highly specialized sectors.
Key Responsibilities
  • Research and identify potential life sciences and biotechnology companies that could benefit from our marketing services, including pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and healthcare companies.
  • Develop targeted sales and marketing strategies to effectively reach and engage decision-makers within these organizations, showcasing our agency's expertise and track record in the life sciences/biotech space.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through cold outreach, networking events, industry conferences, and leveraging existing client relationships.
  • Create compelling pitches, proposals, and presentations that address the unique challenges and needs of life sciences/biotech clients, highlighting our agency's capabilities and value proposition.
  • Negotiate and close new business deals, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements and setting the stage for long-term, successful client partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with account management and creative/digital teams to ensure seamless onboarding and execution of new client projects within the life sciences/biotech verticals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies within the life sciences and biotechnology sectors to provide valuable insights and recommendations to clients.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Business, Life Sciences) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful business development or sales experience within an agency, preferably within the life sciences, biotechnology, or healthcare industries.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and achieving significant revenue growth.
  • Deep understanding of the life sciences and biotechnology sectors, including regulatory landscapes, product development cycles, and marketing challenges.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for identifying client needs and developing tailored solutions.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency with HubSpot CRM systems and other relevant sales and marketing tools.
Ideal Qualifications
  • Proven track record of winning RFPs for large projects and AOR contracts for diagnostic, research tools, and biopharma companies
  • 8 years experience selling marketing or advertising services at a life-science agency
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing, lead generation, and inbound strategy
  • Technical understanding of molecular biology techniques, including genomics and diagnostics
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments for drugs and diagnostics
  • Track record of identifying and winning large accounts
  • Key account mapping and cross-selling within an organization
