The Job

An AM Baker & Cake Maker is responsible for the morning pastry bake-off, preparing cakes, pastry prep and seasonal/holiday specials. Must work according to operational and health standards, meet customer custom orders and time requests, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace. They report to the Pastry Supervisor.

Responsibilities Include:

• Work with the pastry team to proof, bake and finish morning pastries

• Prepare pastries and cakes including mixing, baking, and decorating

• Assemble and package custom cake orders

• Understand pastry menu including limited time offers and seasonal promotions and be able to answer guest questions

• Take custom cake orders and help answer customer questions for clarification

• Follow speed of service standards and meet customer request timelines

• Maintain a guest focused culture at Firebrand

• Follow Firebrand standards, recipes, and systems

• Follow food safety standards

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation & storage areas

• Communicate effectively with managers and coworkers

Experience Required / Compensation:

• 1 yr baking experience

• Prior cake making and decorating experience

• Compensation starts at $21 per hour, more with experience. Salary will be reevaluated at a 6 month review.

• Hours are 5 am to 1:30 pm, Friday-Tuesday

Some requirements

• You’re 18 years or older

• Can lift 50 lbs plus

• Can work on your feet for at least 8 hours

• Are available to work holidays and weekends

• Are legally eligible to work in the US

• Can make it to work consistently and on time
