Hello! Rattlesnake Island Club is in search of a Pastry Chef on Rattlesnake Island in Lake Erie for the 2024 summer season. Rattlesnake Island is privatively owned with its main attraction being Rattlesnake Island Club (RIC) which is available for members and their guests to utilize. Rattlesnake Island Club is open from the end of May until the end of September. This position is available starting, NOW!

The job responsibilities of the Pastry Chef is assisting in the preparation of the homemade ice cream and sorbet for the weekly dinner menu, fresh baked cookies daily, homemade bread for dinner service nightly and anything on the breakfast, lunch or dinner menu that requires pastry techniques. All positions will be involved in daily food prep, cleaning, inventory checks. We serve a more casual breakfast and lunch while dinner is more of an upscale experience. The restaurant is open to members starting on Tuesday morning through Sunday lunch service. The right candidate doesn't need to have a ton of professional experience, just an interest in perfecting their craft and creating some delicious treats for our guests!

The employees live on the island during the summer months in free-provided housing. Our chef also provides three, free meals a day during the work week.

PLEASE NOTE: Rattlesnake Island is a private island that neighbors Put-In-Bay and they are separate islands! The hourly pay rate will be discussed during the interview, and all depends on experience. Free housing is provided on the island, free transportation to and from the island on days off and when needed is provided and three meals during a working day are included as well.
