Salary $64,865.89 - $102,832.95 Annually Job Number 24LIB607rla036 Closing Date 5/28/2024 11:59 PM Central Description Hennepin County Library is seeking a New Arrival Services Coordinator (Spanish bilingual) to lead a pilot project focused on providing educational support for new arrival families sheltered by Hennepin County. Work will include coordinating communication between county and community partners, listening to and engaging directly with families, tracking activities and outcomes, and developing and presenting progress reports. The initial scope of the pilot project will be supporting Spanish-speaking families currently sheltered in Bloomington, MN. The Library New Arrival Services Coordinator will be a member of the library s Community Engagement Team, and will work closely with the Education Support Services New Arrival Support Coordinator to successfully implement this pilot project and propose recommendations for improving ongoing library services to new arrival families in Hennepin County. Location and hours: This position is hybrid and will primarily be located in library and county facilities in Bloomington, Minnesota and surrounding areas. Work hours will generally be Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., with some evening and weekend hours required. Based on current requirements hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. About the position type: This is a full-time, (limited duration/temporary) benefit earning position expected to last through December 2024 with the possibility of extension for up to 18 months. In this position, you will: Develop policies, procedures and plans for pilot project supporting new arrival families. Act as liaison between the Library, Education Support Services (ESS), Bloomington Shelter Site, Housing, Bloomington School District, Broadband and Digital Inclusion, Community Based Organizations, and other key stakeholders. Coordinate and obtain feedback from residents in shelter, and key stakeholders including co-facilitating listening and feedback sessions. Conduct literature review/environmental scan on new arrival support efforts nationwide in a public library setting. Convene key stakeholders and co-facilitate ongoing meetings and workgroups. Establish goals and objectives and evaluate performance of the pilot project. Work with key stakeholders on data collection plan and ongoing review of needed data collection. Develop and present quarterly reports on pilot project and progress on goals and objectives. Evaluate staffing needs and budget cost implications, assist in setting priorities and making recommendations for future work supporting new arrival families.
