Hennepin County is Hiring an IT Technical Services Supervisor Near Minneapolis, MN

Description

Hennepin Health is seeking an IT Technical Services Supervisor, to supervise all levels of technical staff and engaged in complex technology planning, installation, and maintenance of emerging and current system software while ensuring the efficient operation of IT systems in alignment with Hennepin Health’s objectives. This role will drive innovation, optimize IT investments and maintain a secure and reliable IT infrastructure.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and may be performed on-site at the Human Services Building located at 525 Portland Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55415 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will generally be Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of architectural strategy and standards to meet the business requirements of departments in a manner that conforms with county wide enterprise strategy, architectural standards and polices.
  • Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, including training, setting goals, and evaluating performance. Ensure teams are organized, motivated and equipped to handle various IT projects and tasks. Ensure proper IT documentation is generated and reviewed for every project.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases and software systems. Ensure infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable to meet current and future business needs.
  • Develop and implement data integration strategies, including Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, data pipelines, data cleansing, and data transformation rules, to ensure data quality, consistency and reliability. Establish metadata management practices to document ETL processes, data lineage, data definitions, data mapping and data transformation for better data governance and traceability
  • Identify potential IT risks and vulnerabilities, implement security measures and protocols to protect data and systems and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Need to have:
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, management information systems (MIS), or closely related field and three years or more of senior system software programming experience.
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, management information systems (MIS), or closely related field and three years or more in an IT supervisory position leading a technical team.
    • Associates degree in a related field (or approved certification in an information technology program) and five years or more at a senior system software programmer level.
    • Seven years or more of senior system software programming experience or as an IT supervisory position leading a technical team.
Nice to have:
  • Experience:
    • Leading and managing a team of IT professionals.
    • With Structured Query Language (SQL) development on data warehouse projects.
    • Managing sophisticated Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, ETL jobs and schedules, and mitigate operational ETL risks/issues.
    • With data warehouse technologies and concepts in data extraction, data cleansing, data mapping, data transformation, data loading, and data validation rules.
    • Developing standard operating procedures, solution design documents, data mapping documents, data models and technical diagrams.
    • Automating and streamlining business workflow processes.
  • Ability to:
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
    • Lead a diverse team and contribute to an inclusive environment assuring customer satisfaction and technical excellence.
    • Help drive technological advancements, strengthen team bench strength and safeguard the organization’s IT assets.
    • Adapt and champion changing priorities, demands, and timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
