The Refugee Immigrant (asylee) Family Support Specialist Case Manager Assister works with immigrants (refugees or asylees) providing refugee support and assistance for basic needs as they resettle. The Refugee Immigrant (asylee) Family Support Specialist Case Manager Assister works with immigrants (refugees or asylees) to ensure basic needs are stabilized partnering with additional resources to support job search, food, housing, and development. The Refugee Immigrant (asylee) Family Support Specialist Case Manager Assistor works with immigrants (refugees or asylees) to be a problem solver to remove barriers for their participants. The Refugee Immigrant (asylee) Family Support Specialist Case Manager Assister builds relationships and networks to assist in the case load. The Refugee Immigrant (asylee) Family Support Specialist Case Manager Assister facilitates connections with school family assisters such as homework assistance, reading or after school activities. The Refugee Immigrant (asylee) Family Support Specialist Case Manager Assister connects to accessible health care and medical services. The Refugee Immigrant (asylee) Family Support Specialist Case Manager Assister assists families understand their bills and mail they receive. Overall, the Refugee Immigrant (asylee) Family Support Specialist Case Manager Assister is helping the participants make deep connections to their community.
This role is a hybrid role. Mostly working remotely with some meetings at local YMCA branch locations. Starting pay range is $50,000.
The Refugee Support Specialist is responsible for assisting and providing support to youth and/or families for services and programs which satisfy specific identified needs. The incumbent demonstrates ethical behavior and maintains clear and healthy boundaries with youth and/or families while performing all aspects of their designated program.
This position reports to the Program Director who reports to the Program Executive. The incumbent interacts regularly with youth, families, community partners/agencies, educators, volunteers and other YMCA program staff.
