YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF BOISE IDAHO INC is Hiring an Early Childhood Lead Teacher - Micron Early Learning Center Near Boise, ID

Micron Technology, Inc. will be opening an Early Learning Center this year and the center will be operated by the Treasure Valley Family YMCA and will provide STEM-based programming. The center is located across from Micron’s corporate headquarters and marks the company’s progress towards plans to address the need for high-quality, affordable childcare.

The Early Childhood Lead Teacher is responsible for creating an environment with a teaching team that promotes each child’s development and supports children and their family’s diverse needs and interests.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of supervisor, plan, organize, supervise, and facilitate a variety of age-appropriate curriculum, assessments, and parent communication on child growth and development.
  • Create an environment that fosters safety though active supervision and by role modeling safe behavior.
  • Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to building relationships, achievement, and belonging.
  • Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily communication with participants and parents using the Y voice attributes.
  • Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support children’s appropriate development and behavior.
  • Responsible for supervising the health and safety of participants by following and implementing Child Development Branch approved Leading Practices.
  • Use Y Core Values, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective teaching strategies to support each child’s unique background, needs and different learning styles.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years working with children.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) certification, ability to obtain within 2 years, or 12 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, Elementary Education, and/or Special Education.
  • Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
  • Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.

Required Licensure and/or Certifications:

  • Boise City and/or Idaho State Child Care License: Prerequisite upon hire (14-day compliance period).
  • Pediatric CPR/AED: Prerequisite upon hire (14-day compliance period).
  • First Aid: Prerequisite upon hire (14-day compliance period).

Schedule:

This is a full-time position at 40 hours weekly. Operation hours are 5:30am-7:30pm Monday through Friday. The schedule will fall within this range of time.
