Description

Yeh and Associates, Inc., Engineering Services Department is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to support our Denver office located in Colorado. As a Geotechnical Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day management of a project and deliverables. 

Strong fit will provide overall project management and support of projects throughout their full lifecycle. Develop the scope and technical sections of proposal and procurement documents, participate in contract negotiations, and oversee the delivery of the project plan as assigned. May manage multiple projects involving multidisciplinary teams. Serves as expert advisor, resource to clients, interfaces with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Geological Engineering, Environmental Science or related field
• Master’s degree may count as additional experience
• Professional Engineering License, Colorado

• Performs all aspects of project management relative to staff, scope, budget, schedule, quality, and timely invoicing
• Implements Yeh health and safety protocols on all project with strong commitment to safety
• Performs business development including client networking, client relations, and proposal writing 
• Represents the face of Yeh in front of clients, and at client meetings, interviews and presentations
• Assists with contract review, cost negotiations, project accounting and client maintenance
• Participates in staff recruiting and outreach to colleges and universities 
• Member of engineering community with knowledge of local market, threats and opportunities
• Possesses diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices 
• Performs a variety of assignments that include independent evaluations using standard techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment to make minor adoptions and modifications to these standards 
• Applies advanced techniques, modifications and theories and serves as technical liaison on matters pertaining to field of practice
• Manages deliverables for reports, PS&E, SOQ, proposals in accordance with Yeh quality and format guidelines; coordinates preparation, graphics, technical review, and peer review of all deliverables, and provides senior review of engineering reports, project plans and specifications prepared by others
• Assigns work /tasks to staff
• Develops analysis, conclusion and recommendations based on sound engineering principles and practices that are clear, concise and reasonable
• Finds innovative solutions, evaluates alternatives for client using appropriate methods, and is open to input and criticism from staff, client and oversight agencies for good of project and client
• Assigns work/tasks to project staff with clear scopes, budgets, schedules and expectations for assignments
• Prepares proposals to provide professional services
• Maintains and leverages client relationships and develops new project opportunities
• Communicates effectively with client and project teams
• Works on one or multiple projects at a time
• Trains and mentor’s staff
• May perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests

Preference

• Experience with, MathCAD, Slide and/or SLOPEW, LPILE, other technical programs, and Microsoft applications

Work environment

• Working in all types of terrain, weather conditions, and through various stages of construction
• Often involves walking or hiking in steep terrain, creek environments, and brush covered areas
• Working in an office 
• Periodic overnight travel required. Per-diem and lodging will be provided
• Exposure to loud noise levels and using proper ear protection
• Strong adherence to safety and PPE requirements
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
