Cherry Health is Hiring a Human Resources Manager - hybrid Near Grand Rapids, MI

Under the direction of the Chief People Officer, the HR Manager will deliver a high level of generalist knowledge and skill in human resources to support both business and human resource objectives. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position working Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position could require some travel to outlying Cherry Health locations.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree is required; Human Resources or related managerial field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years HR progressive work experience, leading to 1-3 years in HR management or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above.
  • Strong analytical skills, including reporting, synthesizing data to identify themes and create solutions to address those issues
  • Human Resources generalist skills, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, development, HRIS (UKG ), and project management
  • Proven coaching and conflict resolution skills
  • Successful track record of delivering superior service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; presentation skills desired.
  • Outstanding organizational skills; including the ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines, as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Multi-location management experience preferred
  • Stay current on recent federal, state, and case law changes and monitor labor law updates and newsletter for changes that affect Human Resources
  • Oversees questions and/or requests by EEOC and other governmental agencies, including employee complaints and representing the company at hearings
  • Manage all Human Resources internal audits and year-end reconciliation audits and reports
  • Maintain Human Resources plans and programs required by federal or state law
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Responsibilities:
  • Foster a culture of respect and employee growth
  • Oversee the analysis of benefit and HRIS system, UKG experience a plus
  • Oversee that job descriptions are created clearly and defined and firm-wide roles grids
  • Provide coaching and direction to staff through employee relations issues
  • Assist management team with performance issues to ensure proper Human Resources procedures are followed and all documentation requirements are met
  • Assist with succession management and career development process
  • Manage all personnel related issues including policies, records, and job descriptions
  • Manage, supervise and coordinate all benefits, payroll, risk management and workers compensation issues
  • Oversee the ongoing review of employee classification and compensation plans, (pay and benefits), perform personnel related research and survey data collection
