Job Title : Human Resources Coordinator

Reports to : Staffing & Payroll Director

Salary : $45,000 - $55,000 / annually, generous benefits package

Location : Madison, WI ( Please note : Employment with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin requires residence or willingness to relocate to the state of Wisconsin. )

Start date : April 2024

The Opportunity : As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will provide support to the Staffing and Payroll team with the maintenance and administration of the hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and payroll processes.

This position will report directly to the Staffing and Payroll Director, working with them to maintain accurate employee records, sending onboarding materials, completing new hire vetting, and payroll process tracking.

In this role, you will be providing critical support to all WisDems staff, assisting in the coordination of many Human Resources programs.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate the administration of human resources processes including, hiring, onboarding, system administration and payroll.
  • Provide support to employees on questions and inquiries regarding human resources policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Maintain accurate records in our human resources information system, Rippling.
  • Work with the Staffing and Payroll team to maintain good information flow to the rest of the Human Resources department, the WisDems team, and external partners.
  • Assist the Staffing and Payroll Director with gathering applicable documentation and / or information for incoming projects.
  • Generate reports for other departments and teams, as requested.
  • Execute excellent administrative communication to WisDems staff.
  • Have a positive attitude and help support / foster an open door policy.
  • On year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election-preparation as necessary.

  • High Level of Attention to Detail and Thoroughness - Notices errors that others might overlook and circles back to fix them, even after their work has been mostly finalized.
  • Self-Motivation and Accountability - Shows initiative when the moment arises, takes calculated risks, and will hold themself accountable for their mistakes.
  • Ability to Handle Confidential Information - Has the ability / skills to handle confidential information with professionalism and care.

Qualifications (Preferred) :

  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems, such as : Rippling, BambooHR, Paychex, Workday, etc.
  • Has knowledge of relevant HR laws, best practices, concepts, and strategies; specifically knowledge of substantial hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Time spent volunteering for and / or working for an organization that advocates for progressive values.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training or experience.
