We are currently seeking a Safety Manager to help prevent workplace injuries and reduce health risks. In this position, you will investigate complaints and conduct regular audits, identifying potential risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Based on these audits, you develop and implement risk reduction strategies. As part of your risk reduction duties, you may promote safety awareness among our employees by leading seminars or distributing informational material on emergency response plans.
Develop and implement environmental health and safety policies and procedures
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
Provide training to employees on safety protocols, including emergency response procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities
Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies for improving workplace safety culture
Stay up-to-date with changes in workers compensation laws and regulations
Coordinate workers compensation claims process, including filing claims, managing documentation, and providing support to employees
Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate occupational health risks
Respond to emergencies or hazardous situations, providing first aid or coordinating emergency response efforts
Fabricate safety signs, labels, or other materials as needed
Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to hazardous waste management
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
Certification in OSHA 30-hour General Industry Training preferred
Knowledge of worker's compensation laws and regulations
Strong understanding of occupational health principles and practices
Proficient in first aid/CPR techniques
Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
