The Virginia Eye Institute (VEI) is hiring! VEI is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area.We are searching for a full-time administrative assistant to join our busy practice.Job purpose The position exists to manage patient chart flow, function as the ASC liaison for the VEI business office, oversee surgical scheduling, and maintain credentialing and personnel files for clinical and non-clinical staff. Duties and responsibilities Coordinates dictation and preparing/distributing operative notes as required Responsible for reviewing charts for procedure, diagnosis codes and physician signatures Forwards forms to the VEI Clinical Business Office in support of timely billing Serves as administrator of ASC Scheduling software, including block schedule creation Maintains ASC credentialing files medical and nursing staff Maintains personnel files for all ASC staff Ensures charts are filed or distributed as required upon case completion Responsible for ordering non-medical ASC supplies Skills and Abilities Attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication Excellent customer service skills Proven organization skills Self-motivated Demonstrated competency in MS Office and computer systems Demonstrated knowledge of ASC practice management systems Demonstrated knowledge of CPT and ICD coding
