Description

The Technical Sales Intern is responsible for assisting the sales team in promoting engineering and laboratory sales activities as a member of the seismic and vibration laboratory team.

Essential Job Responsibilities not limited to:

Work with the sales team to:

a) Create & maintain accurate client records including all quotes and other communications in Salesforce

b) Prospecting call/email activities through follow-up on previous contacts from conferences, closed-out quotes, past clients, regulatory listings, local companies, and other sources as determined by the Test and Measurement management team

c) Assist with customer service issues

d) Follow up on expiring certifications (OSP and IBC)

e) Supply regular laboratory marketing / media content, including photos and videos of shake tests

f) Produce periodic business status updates including quarterly PowerPoint slides

g) Assist with client quotes, including project scope and feasibility with the laboratory team

h) Review PO’s for accuracy and enter in Epicor

Working Conditions/Physical requirements

a) Able to sit at and work on a computer in a standard office setting

b) Visual acuity and the ability to distinguish colors 

Work environment 

a) The adjacent laboratory setting may occasionally include a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, humid, wet conditions)

b) The adjacent laboratory environment may include variable noise levels 

c) May occasionally require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes and other safety equipment

d) Regular working hours observed

Minimum Qualifications

• Working towards a bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Science and/or technical background preferred)
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Technical writing experience preferred
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings preferred, or a willingness to learn
