Role Description

The Operations Manager (OM) at Venosa reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of the group of companies and works closely with company group colleagues as a member of the management team. The OM will be responsible for production planning, coordination of any shift work, production measurement management, implementation of safety plans, people management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The OM has the support of and supervises the production supervisor, three lead area operators, and the maintenance mechanic within Venosa.

**Please note, due to the nature of this role, start time will be 6 am**

Job Responsibilities and Duties

Operations Focus

• Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for plant production goals and meeting or exceeding customers’ required shipment dates to attain stellar customer satisfaction.
• Lead daily plant huddles and oversee daily floor operations.
• Establish and maintain quality control measures for all production processes and products.
• Organize and direct workflow to satisfy production requirements in a cost-efficient manner.
• Work with department leads to coordinate purchasing, inventory, production, and shipping needs based on the production schedule.
• Itemize productive time for employees by eliminating redundant and unnecessary work.
• Identify and evaluate strategies to improve the plant’s operations by actively participating in process improvement, cost reduction, and other initiatives to increase productivity and overall plant performance.
• Manage personnel to schedule and maintain inventory cycle counts to ensure raw materials are available for production and inventory valuations are correct.
• Coordinate with the maintenance mechanic in establishing and maintaining a maintenance schedule for the plant equipment to reduce equipment failure and to ensure equipment safety.

People Focus

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure all employees are appropriately trained in all compliance and safety requirements.
• Hire and retain a well-trained and motivated staff.
• Establish all shift production schedules for a fully operational team every day.
• Conduct employee performance reviews with a view toward goal setting.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree with a manufacturing focus and five years of manufacturing experience OR a minimum of 10 years of plant production experience including three years of management experience.
• Candidates possessing resinous and forming manufacturing industry experience is desirable.
• Competent in Microsoft Office suite of products, email, and cloud-based applications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
