Reporting to the AVP/Controller, the Director and Assistant Controller will work beside senior leadership to lead the accounting operations of Velocity’s newly formed insurance carrier. The ‘hybrid’ position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Nashville, TN. They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining financial policies, procedures, and controls, while ensuring that reporting systems are optimized, efficient, and cost-effective. The candidate will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate periodic financial statements that are in compliance with Statutory Accounting Principles (“SAP”) and GAAP financial statements. The Assistant Controller will work closely with leadership in setting the vision and direction for financial reporting and forecasting, working closely with other business unit leaders, and helping with quarterly reporting to the Board of Directors. As a member of the broader leadership team, you will be responsible for setting the bar for financial reporting and taking initiative in problem solving.
