Description:

We want a professional who will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, grow, and protect our business. This person will understand current accounting practices and trends, provide financial advice, and have experience managing a company’s accounting & financial operations. As a member of the Valore team, you will have autonomy to position the department for success and hold yourself accountable for the department’s deliverables.

The primary responsibility of your role is to steer the accounting & finance department for the organization, organize financial statements, and provide business insight into financial data. Ensure accurate and timely financial and tax reporting as required. Provide analytical support to the leadership, other departments, and make actionable recommendations. Liaison for internal and external business partners. Work on special assignments and financial projects as necessary and support all areas of the company and its affiliates.

This position is remote, reports directly to the CFO, and has communications with board members.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and oversee the accuracy of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Oversee the closing process on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis.
• Consolidate financial statements for the company’s multiple entities.
• Analyze financial data and identify trends and potential risks.
• Financial Management:
• Develop and manage the company's budget and forecasts.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts.
• Recommend corrective actions to address budget deviations.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage cash flow and ensure the company's financial solvency.
• Oversee the processing of shared expenses between businesses and ensure accuracy.
• Compliance & Controls:
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting principles (GAAP) and government regulations.
• Manage the company's tax filings and work with external tax advisors.
• Oversee payroll and accounts payable/receivable functions.
• Leadership & Communication:
• Lead and manage the growth of the accounting team, providing guidance.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of ownership, including the CEO and CFO.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare clear and concise financial reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Analyze and evaluate business opportunities.
• Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum 2-7 years of experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated and successful in an autonomous environment.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in accounting software, excel, and office.

• 100% Remote
• Preferred candidate resides in Indiana or Kentucky

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
