Sales Manager - CO Mountain Markets
Upslope Brewing Company is an award-winning craft beer and seltzer producer located in Boulder Colorado. As a Certified B Corporation, we meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. Through investment in our employees, continuous process improvement and a focus on innovation, we aim to deliver a high quality product, while prioritizing environmental stewardship and inclusion in our operations, brand and partnerships.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to represent the Upslope Brand as a Market Manager with a focus on our Colorado Mountain Market. This position requires a self-motivated, responsible, and proactive professional with experience in relationship building, sales generation and a working knowledge of the craft beverage industry. The Upslope Sales Team focuses on expanding our brewery revenue and brand awareness through a hands-on approach to consultative sales while managing the connection between our distributors, customers and Brewery. 
This is a full-time, benefited position with a self-driven and dynamic schedule requiring flexibility to work nights, weekends and events that will support our account partners and get “liquid to lips.” 
Please note that while this position works in tandem with our Marketing Department in promoting our product lines, this is an in-person sales role not a job in marketing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to)
Brand & Sales Growth
  • Support and grow all accounts in territory including both On-Premise and Off-Premise accounts in the Colorado Mountain Territory.
  • Build relationships with buyers and sales teams at all assigned accounts
  • Maintain complete and accurate account information and sales data in KARMA CRM.
  • Strategically targeting key accounts with distributors to increase points of distribution, rate of sale and promotional opportunities.
  • Find and create new accounts through prospecting and cold calling to increase account base, points of distribution, and sales
  • Managing allocated specialty beers and communicates appropriate information to accounts and distributors
  • Scheduling and attending promotional events, such as samplings, pint nights, beer dinners, regional beer fests, etc. in sales territory. Minimum of 6 promotional events per month.
  • Find and facilitate appropriate event sponsorships in sales territory
  • Identify and foster partnerships with synergistic and like-minded companies & organizations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships in the craft beer industry
  • Work closely with Upslope's Director of Marketing on all marketing efforts in territory including coordinating POS orders between distributor, accounts and Upslope, and assisting with overall marketing, advertising and branding vision for Upslope Brewing Company in this territory.
  • Understanding procedures for checking out samples, donations, festival beer.
  • Serve as a key liaison between our satellite taproom in Summit County and the surrounding community.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting:
  • Reporting to the Upslope Regional Sales Manager and Director of Sales efforts on an identified, routine basis
  • Reviews monthly financials with Regional Sales Manager and Director of Sales and adjusts strategy as needed
Work Time/Availability:
The Upslope Sales Market Manager position is an exempt salary role and they have fluctuating schedules. They will work regular business days along with nights, weekends and some holidays as dictated by market needs/events. Sales Market Managers are responsible for maintaining personal work-life harmony while remaining in integrity with business obligations.
Travel is required for this position.

Compensation Package includes:
  • Starting base salary range: $58,000 - $65,000 /annually, depending on experience

Qualifications/Position Requirements and Specifications:
  • Previous sales experience, craft beverage sales experience is a huge plus
  • Technology proficiencies (Microsoft Office and Google Suites, Slack, CRM Software, Smart Phone, etc.)
  • Enjoy working independently as well as in a team environment 
  • Integrity, resilience, strong interpersonal and written communication abilities and time management proficiencies
  • Adaptability and ability to shift daily priorities while maintaining scheduled deadlines
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles and endure lots of driving
  • Interest in the Craft Brewing Industry or one of our core values
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Ideal candidate currently resides in Summit or Eagle County, Colorado
Desired/Preferred, but Not Required:
  • Four-year degree minimum in business management or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of similar employment experience
  • Experience in technical brewing or job history in the brewing industry
  • Ability to ski / snowboard - this position services key bars and restaurants at resorts including those on mountain. While you don't need to be able to ski to get to most of them, we believe it makes the business relationship and work day a little better if you do.

Candidates must be able to work evenings, weekends and events balanced with regular business hours. This job requires the individual to spend ample time in their car, talking on the phone, in accounts and in a remote “office setting” and may include travel outside of the dedicated sales area. In person attendance at All Company meetings, main events and general sales meetings at our headquarters in Boulder, CO is required. While performing the duties of this job, prolonged periods of standing and frequent lifting/moving up to 40lbs are essential as well as periodically moving kegs either alone or with assistance. Outdoor work may be required regardless of weather conditions, as well as work that involves lifting, bending, sitting, exposure to loud music and crowds of people depending on the location of job duties.
