Salary Range: Up to $38,700 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions
Function: To assist with the administration, coordination, and assessment of retention and graduation initiatives; supports the academic pursuit of undergraduate students with particular emphasis on retention, academic intervention, support, and outreach.
Scope: Assists in the planning and operation of retention and graduation initiatives or projects designed to improve student experiences and outcomes. Responsible for coordinating and carrying out the day-to-day activities of assigned programs, initiatives, or projects. Work in a team environment with the Associate Director of Retention and Graduation Initiatives and Outreach Team to promote student academic success.
Core Responsibilities
  • Implements proactive and responsive initiatives or projects to ensure that prescribed activities are carried out under university-wide student success objectives.
  • Conducts tracking, progress monitoring, and analysis of student populations to facilitate student persistence and progress, retention, and/or degree completion.
  • Monitors open cases in CRM platform(s) and responds to referrals in a timely manner; investigates student inquiries and provides solution-oriented recommendations.
  • Coaches students through academic barriers that are preventing them from progressing toward graduation.
  • Connects students, through referrals, to campus and community resources to resolve individual challenges and address specific needs.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and supports proactive outreach campaigns to retain and support undergraduate students; maintains outreach assessment calendar and collects data to measure the impact of outreach.
  • Maintains records of trends in student issues, policy and procedural modifications, etc.
  • Prepares periodic reports on issues and recurring barriers impacting student retention and timely graduation.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of initiative and outreach guides, online course offerings, job aids, training materials, etc.
  • Serves as a supervisor and mentor to Graduate Assistant(s) and undergraduate student employees.
  • Collaborates with university stakeholders/partners to promote the goals and objectives of Student Success.
  • Maintains accurate student records and contacts via student information systems and CRM platforms.
  • Prepares regular reports, proposals, manuals, or other documentation for management use or as required for projects, programs, or initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with a student population and applying academic intervention strategies including intrusive monitoring, early outreach, and academic success techniques; teaching; or other comparable professional experience in an educational setting.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple high-priority projects.
  • Knowledge of personal computers with standard business software and all standard office equipment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take initiative on individual assignments.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Independent decision-making and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain tact, diplomacy, and discretion in all matters.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to deal properly with confidential material.
  • Personal computer and standard office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Similar experience in higher education academic setting.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of college students, including theories and practices associated with student transition, learning, motivation, and retention.
  • Demonstrated creative and analytical thinking.
  • Experience with student information systems (i.e., Banner, PeopleSoft).
  • Experience with CRM platforms (i.e., Salesforce, Civitas Inspire).
  • Experience supervising student employees.
  • Experience in communication coordination, academic or success coaching, advising, counseling, or mentoring.

Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Following initial training period, there could be opportunities to work remotely in Texas and on campus.
