University of Texas at El Paso is Hiring a Leave Specialist Near El Paso, TX

Under limited supervision, serves as the primary contact for all leave programs in accordance with university policies and applicable federal and state laws.

Essential Functions

Advises, counsels, and educates employees on leave policies, procedures, and programs.

Administers various leave benefits and programs such as maternity leave, family medical leave (FML), military leave, etc.

Conducts university training for employees and supervisors of new and existing leave information.

Conducts one on one meetings designed to help employees and supervisors obtain information and understand leave benefit offerings

Responsible for creating, initiating, and upkeep, of personal leave forms in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws.

Maintains communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely transition to work, acts as liaison between employees and their supervisors through the duration of the leave period.

Addresses employee benefit questions during the leave period.

Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.

Serves as the university designee to contact health care providers for clarification or confirmation of leave medical documents when needed.

Keeps abreast of law changes relating to leave administration by Federal, State and UT System policies.

Proven knowledge with Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all Federal, State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university within area of assigned responsibility.

and

Experience: Three to five years related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Proven experience with PeopleSoft
