University of Texas at El Paso is Hiring a Coord Curriculum/Acad Rpts Near El Paso, TX

Manages academic program records, coordinates production of institutional catalogs, and assists in the implementation and updating of curricular changes for the Division of Academic Affairs.

Essential Functions

Provides staff support in the Provost’s Office for timely university-level review, writing and editing, completion, and maintenance of the following:

  • Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs, including coordination, evaluation, and implementation of policies and procedures related to the academic catalogs,
  • Table of programs,
  • Course inventory,
  • Degree information required for degree audit implementation

Assists in gathering information for accreditation documents prepared for regional, professional, and disciplinary accrediting agencies,

Assists Director of Academic Reports and Curriculum in researching past proposals to address inquiries from advisors, program Chairs and Directors, Graduate School, Institutional Research, and the Registrar’s Office.

Develops and maintains digital record systems and databases, and uses existing institutional databases (e.g., Banner).

Gathers curricular and student location data from academic programs for National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements and liaise with institution’s State Authorization Manager.

Academic Affairs liaison with the Office of International Programs for Study Abroad Faculty Led programs and proposals.

Interacts frequently with academic departments, deans’ staff, faculty, and staff regarding curriculum change implementation.

Attends Faculty Senate Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, Graduate Council, and other meetings to provide information and support services in place of the Director of Academic Reports and Curriculum, as needed.

Attends other regularly scheduled meetings, as needed.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required

and

Experience: one to two years related experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Communication Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret institutional documents related to curricular changes. Ability to respond to email inquiries from faculty, staff, and administration related to curricular questions and concerns about catalog and degree evaluation information. Ability to effectively present information to individuals or small groups.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret curricular documents and determine the best course of action for implementation or updates.

Computer Skills:

Preferred computer knowledge within area of assigned responsibility or the ability to learn.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Professional Certifications, Licenses, or Registrations within area of assigned responsibility preferred.

Other Qualifications:

Occasional travel is required. Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously, effective telephone communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
