Position Summary | The UNM Valencia Campus is seeking a professional and dynamic individualto fill the position of Executive Assistant (EA). This individual will be responsible for coordinating activities in theChancellor’s Office, while performing multiple tasks in an environmentdemanding the highest level of professionalism and sensitivity in regard toconfidential issues. The successful incumbent must have the ability to workindependently with minimal supervision and coordinate multiple duties at a timein a fast-paced working environment with changing priorities. This person willbe the primary point of contact for both internal and external constituencies onany matter directed to the Chancellor and will advise, assist and represent theChancellor on a wide range of management, legal, programmatic, and operationalissues affecting UNM-Valencia and its community constituency. The Executive Assistant provides assistance and support to the Chancellorin problem solving, project planning, research, and management, and developmentand execution of stated goals and objectives. This position is responsible for generatingand scheduling meetings for the Chancellor and the Advisory Board. TheExecutive Assistant composes and formats documents, secures travel arrangementsand sets agendas, maintains electronic calendars and correspondence, monitorsand reconciles budgets, and oversees/plans special events including catering,facilities usage, set-up/decoration, publicity, and general logistics. The EAattends and takes notes for Administrative and Advisory Board meetings, amendsby-laws and adheres to open meeting resolutions, and publishesaccordingly. The EA serves as support to the Advisory Board andcoordinates all Advisory Board functions. Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, theUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of theUniversity of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the regionand is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teachingexcellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, career andtechnical programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High School/Collegecourses to Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a studentbody of approximately 2,400 students per semester. Minimum Qualifications | High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 3 years of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
