Position Summary

UNM-Taos Film and Digital Media Arts Department invites applicants for a part-time Multimedia Services Technician position. This position will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various projects within the Film and Digital Media Arts Program. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong project management skills, a deep understanding of film and digital media production processes, and the ability to collaborate with faculty, students, and external partners. The position will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and completion of diverse film and digital media projects, contributing to the department's excellence.

This will be a part-time position renewed annually based on performance and funding.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management Skills:

·Experience in developing project plans, timelines, and budgets for film and digital media projects.

·Proficiency in coordinating resources, including equipment, personnel, and facilities, to ensure successful project execution.

·Ability to align project goals with academic objectives and curricular requirements in collaboration with faculty.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

·Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with faculty, students, and external partners.

Resource Management:

·Manage project budgets, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately.

·Coordinate equipment and facility usage, optimizing resources for multiple concurrent projects.

·Identify and secure external funding opportunities for special projects and initiatives.

Quality Assurance

·Monitor and ensure the quality of film and digital media projects, adhering to industry standards and creative excellence.

·Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve project outcomes.

Communication and Distribution

·Create movie posters, web page graphics and press releases to highlight the various multimedia projects.

·Capability to assist with events, demos, and recruitment events, showcasing the work of the Film and Digital Media Arts team.

Technical Skills:

·Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in film and digital media production.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with a university film and media arts program and history of good working relationships with students and colleagues

* Current portfolio showing expertise in; graphic design, web development and video production.

* Examples of professional networks, colleagues, partners, clients in Northern New Mexico

* Demonstrated ability to organize events, film trips and productions
