Position Overview
The student will assist with all aspects of operations and management of the Max Kade Center under the direction of the Director and other staff.
Job Description
The Max Kade Center (MKC) seeks a responsible, hardworking student to assist with a wide range of tasks at the Center. The student will assist with preparing for and hosting events and guests, maintaining the physical appearance of Center, conducting inventory and other collections-related tasks, maintaining a promotional campaign and social media presence, and additional tasks as needed for the day-to-day operations of the MKC. 30% - Event Support 30% - Space Management 20% - Special Projects 20% - Outreach and Communications
Required Qualifications
Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office
Strong written and oral communication skills
Willingness to learn and adhere to best practices for handling archival materials and rare books
Commitment to following policies for responsible and safe use of MKC buildings
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments to enroll in 1 credit hour DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)
Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of German
Familiarity with AV equipment, printers, scanners
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud

Work Schedule
Approximately 10 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM, with rare exceptions possible, depending on MKC event schedule. Weekly schedule to be determined in consultation with supervisor.
