Description:

The UIC College of Medicine is the country's second largest Medical School and the Department of Radiology is one of the larger residency programs in the Midwest. Education is provided to the Diagnostic Radiology residency, which has approximately 32 residents, and is approved for Early Specialization in IR (ESIR).
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage entire interview cycle each recruitment season
  • Responsible for tracking all requirements for American Board of Radiology for each resident throughout their residency
  • Responsible for onboarding all incoming residents
  • Track BLS & ACLS for each resident
  • Oversee each resident’s Illinois license and the renewal process
  • Assist both program directors
  • Responsible for scheduling and overseeing all Clinical Competency Committee meetings & Program Evaluation Committee meetings
  • Schedule semiannual reviews for the program director and run required reports for data
  • Responsible for oversight of ACGME site visits for both diagnostic and interventional radiology residency programs
  • Provide residency data to department chairman twice a year for faculty reviews
  • Verification of trainings for past residents
  • Track resident attendance monthly
  • Run resident dictation reports monthly as required for the ACGME
  • Responsible for the organization of the annual resident graduation dinner
  • Responsible for maintaining past resident contact list for the annual RSNA event
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications Required:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Any one or combination totaling four (4) years (48 months), from the categories below:

A. College coursework in medical education, education, communications, public relations, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

  • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
  • Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
  • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)

B. Progressively more responsible clerical or secretarial experience, including a background in electronic word processing and database management systems

C. Work experience totaling one (1) year (12 months) comparable to that gained at the Medical Education Program Specialist level or similar experience within a medical education program.

Please Note: Completion of the Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education Programs Certification (TAGME) from the National Board for Certification of Training Administrators qualifies applicants for each level of this series.
