Description:

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Assessment and Evaluation, this role responsible for the design, creation, dissemination and evaluation of all medical student evaluations of courses and faculty across all campuses: M1/M2 (year 1 and year 2; M3 (year 3) Clerkships and M4 (year 4) required and elective evaluations.

The position will build and adapt evaluations and ensure that all evaluations are generated into proper report format, for responses to the appropriate faculty, course, clerkships, specialty directors, departmental chairs, student curricular board representatives and /or deans for Phase 1-3 of the curriculum. Redacting inappropriate and sensitive information, noting why all changes were made will also be required. The coordinator will maintain ongoing communications with deans, directors, faculty, course, and department personnel through the entire evaluation process. The position will also be responsible for other related as assigned and needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation Building for Phase 1-3: Populate sessions and faculty where appropriate, create and distribute forms. Adapt evaluation to new evaluation platforms one they are adopted
  • Review all evaluation data as it comes in. Maintain ongoing communications with deans, directors, faculty, course and department personnel through the entire evaluation process, including in the event there is a need to make an immediate notification when there is a report of a serious incident by a student. Redact inappropriate and sensitive information, noting why all changes were made.
  • Ensure that all evaluations are generated into proper report format, for the responses to the appropriate COM faculty, course, clerkships, specialty directors, departmental chairs, student curricular board representatives and /or deans. Store and send reports according to an agreed-on process.
  • Build block calendars, confirm sessions for accuracy. Gather goals and objectives documents, review goals and objectives for updates.
  • Exam Proctor: Set up exam space; monitor exam for students; troubleshoot exam issues.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor degree in an educational or related field with a minimum of two courses in statistics.
  • Two (2) years (24 months) of educational and/or other research experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Education, Public Health or related field of study
  • Three or more years’ experience in medical education
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in analyses using standard statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Qualtrics)
  • Knowledge of UIC-COM medical curriculum.
