RN Supervisor

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Job Summary

  • Supervision and Leadership:
  • Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix to meet patient care needs.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess patient status, monitor nursing care delivery, and address any issues or concerns.
  • Patient Care Coordination:
    • Coordinate and oversee nursing care activities, including admissions, assessments, care planning, and discharge planning.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care coordination and continuity of care.
    • Monitor patient outcomes and intervene as needed to address any changes in condition or concerns related to patient care.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures governing nursing practice, including state and federal regulations.
    • Conduct regular audits and quality assessments to monitor nursing practice, documentation, and adherence to standards of care.
    • Implement corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives to address identified issues and improve patient care outcomes.
  • Staff Development and Training:
    • Identify training needs and provide education and training programs for nursing staff, focusing on clinical skills, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
    • Mentor and support nursing personnel in professional development, performance improvement, and career advancement opportunities.
    • Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and excellence within the nursing department.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, administration, and other healthcare team members to ensure timely and accurate exchange of information.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, care conferences, and committees to discuss patient care issues, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic planning efforts.
    • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and administration, advocating for nursing needs, resources, and priorities.

Experience

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of PA.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in nursing practice, patient assessment, and care coordination.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and make effective decisions in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
